Network Marketing Tip | The Magnificent Tip I Learned From Madonna
Back in 1985, while I was still in my teens, I remember vividly staying awake one night into the small hours to watch “The Tube” (a UK music programme which showcased the latest and greatest in the popular music world. It offered a strange and often amusing assortment of solo artists, punk bands and backing singers that the 1980s welcomed with open arms. The start of the show that night was none other than Madonna and even though she looked like she had just walked in off the street, she stole the show with her first ever live performance of “Holiday” for those of you old enough and sad enough to remember the song. The performance and more over Madonna taught me something nobody else has been able to teach me. Read on to discover the magnificent network marketing tip I learned from Madonna.
Before we go any further, I want to take a moment to let you into a secret. Lean forward and listen in close. Ready?
Here it is…
There is no magic formula for success in network marketing. It’s a matter of hard work, sacrifice, and opportunity coming together at the right time and until you get this clear in your head you will carry on failing over and over again and every time you fail you will blame the company, the product, the compensation plan or the poor guy who had the misfortune of showing you this industry in the first place.
Most people fail at network marketing before their first year is even up. Some go a little further and collapse in year two or three and a small number survive all the way to years four and five before finally realising they have dug the world’s deepest money pit and have been throwing their hard earned money down the same hole for so long it felt like a real business.
There are a number of things you should do to improve your chances of success, some of which you may not be consciously aware of. If you are struggling to build your MLM business and feeling like a network marketing failure, here’s my top three tips to get you started:
1. Learn as much about your company as you possibly can – this is YOUR business. Nobody else will or can do this for you. Okay, your sponsor may be able to help you IF they have the skill, time and commitment but they also have a business to build and other team members to work with and they will know from experience if they’ve been around a while, that dedicating all their time to one person is not good use of their time. Your business is your business, so treat it that way and take responsibility today.
2. Come out of the closet – I see a lot of new marketers struggling with this and have team members of my own who take a while to come out of the closet and announce themselves to the world.
What do I mean?
If you’re trying to keep quiet about your network marketing business, either keeping it from friends, family or your partner, here’s the deal; it will NOT work. You will fail (again). If you are hiding what you do because you are ashamed of it in some way and don’t believe in the business, your company, product or your ability to be successful you have two choices… get out now or come out of the closet and start building your business!
3. Stay focused – there is always someone shouting from the rooftops about how great their new business is, showing commission cheques that look like lottery wins or hitting you with some slick sales video that seems to say you just got it all wrong and chose the wrong company (again).
The network marketing business model is not designed to build a big income over night – it’s multi-level after all and the compensation plan means the money is divided amongst many and the only time (get this, the ONLY time) you will see a big commission cheque coming through will be when you have built a big downline. This takes time, dedication and focus. Stay in the game!
But there is one network marketing tip I learned from Madonna that can help you on the road to success more than anything else I have mentioned and this is
it;
Believe in yourself more than anyone else could or will ever believe in YOU.
You could be dressed in rags. You could sing like a cat with his foot caught in a bed of thorns. You might look like the least likely leader in the whole network marketing industry.
But…
When you believe in YOU success happens.
