Network Marketing Opportunities

Searching for the right network marketing opportunity is NOT an easy task. Everywhere you look it seems that someone else has your best interests at heart and is “simply” directing you to the right tool, training or downloadable report, to help you find out just a little bit more about network marketing in the hope you will join their “proven” opportunity.

This article is a little bit different. First, I’m not about to hook you into my network marketing opportunity. Second, I’m not about to offer you my latest greatest training tool or downloadable report. What I am about to do is give you a short list of actions or tasks to put in place and follow through on when choosing the right network marketing opportunity for you. Here goes;

 

Network Marketing Opportunities – What You Need To Know

1. Cost To Get Started – Starting a network marketing business in the current economic climate is an excellent move. Not only will it provide you and your family with a second income, it also has the potential to build a significant retirement fund, create financial and time freedom and offer you control over your life and your future that you may never have known before. With a global economy that is looking more and more fragile by the day, it simply makes sense to look at additional ways to make money from home and network marketing offers you just that.

That said, money is a lot harder to find these days; loans are not readily available for a lot of people and a lot of folks are reluctant to put more cash on credit and rightly so. Your network marketing opportunity needs to be available and affordable to the majority of people looking to get started making an extra $500 per month from home and at that price point, the company start up costs (or business kit) should go no higher than a few hundred dollars (with a maximum $600 start up  in my opinion)

The days of “Top Tier” network marketing opportunities are long gone. Forget forking out thousands (or even tens of thousands of dollars) on some over-priced information product delivered exclusively in The Bahamas – today’s small business investor isn’t going to fall for the promise of a “Get Rich Quick Plan” any more whichever way you wrap it up.

Avoid anything that has a price tag that makes you ask questions and focus on only the opportunities that you and your future business partners can comfortably afford!

2. Company Culture – Finding a great network marketing company with a good product, compensation plan, marketing system and a great culture is NOT easy. It should be, but with so many scams and schemes out there in the marketplace it’s pretty easy to get lost in the woods when searching for a company to guide you safely towards your goals.

Talk to the top earners in the company and listen to the language they use when discussing their opportunity. If it’s all hype and promise, stay clear or you’ll find they take your cash and drop you like a lead balloon.

Talk to the people who work for the company. Give them a call and see how they handle your query over the phone. Better still, if you can, call in to see the place of work and meet a few of the corporate guys to take a close look at how they are building the business Mon to Fri, 9 to 5.  Remember, your customers and business partners are going to have to work with these folks too and whatever you recommend needs to stand up under pressure or your team and your customer base will quickly disappear.

3. Consumer Potential – Back in the day, when network marketing first set foot on our door, it was a business model that was built in one way; through a network of locally based and connected distributors. Those who came in early and built a solid team of distributors were able to build a great income for themselves and live a wonderful life on the back of a growing residual income. That’s why many of today BIG ($200,000 PLUS per month) started back in the 70s and 80s building a team with Amway, Herbalife, FLP and others.

Today’s market place and business model is different and although there are still some BIG income earners coming out of the industry, many have a different approach to building their business due to the global potential of their company and its product. Consumer potential is critical to your success.

Finding the right company, with a product that is or has the potential to be consumed globally as well as a market that is or is planning to open across multiple countries is essential. Don’t even consider limiting yourself at this early stage with a locally based, locally targeted business plan.

4. Compensation Plan – Network marketing as a business model is designed in such a way that it creates long term wealth through a network of distributors all connected to your organisation (or part of your team) – wealth is created as a residual income, a small share of every single product purchase paid to each distributor who has an association with that customer (either as the direct distributor or as part of the upline or sponsorship tree). Each small share or percentage adds up to a large income over time and forms the basis of the MLM model.

In addition to long term income, MLM companies also offer other rewards built into their pay structure or compensation plan – to help create an income early for distributors and also offer incentives to increase recruitment and sponsorship activity. This second part of the compensation plan is critical to your success as it provides income and cashflow while building long term wealth through a customer base.

Network Marketing Opportunities – The Bottom Line

Finding the right opportunity is as much about you as it is about the company, it’s culture, product or compensation plan. Think long and hard about where you are today and where you want to be in five years time and make a decision to invest in your success by committing yourself 100% to building your own network marketing empire.
