MLM Tools | Four Stupid Tools To Kill Off Your Downline
At first glance, network marketing may appear to have come a long way in recent years. The internet has offered networkers a range of tools and training literally at your fingertips and made recruiting into your MLM push button simple…
… at least that’s what those selling MLM tools and systems will have you believe.
The truth is somewhat different.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m all for using the right MLM tools where appropriate and I know from experience that time is short for most people and a level of automation can go a long way. But here’s the thing…
Network marketing is a people business
It’s about connecting and building bridges to take a stranger and position him or her close by your side (perhaps not physically but in spirit and mind at least) as a trusted and potential business partner for your MLM.
No tool can do this – whatever you might believe!
Now, as a reformed internet marketing junkie, I can speak from experience when I say that not all tools (and not all networkers) are created equal and this is my list of the worst network marketing tools in the virtual tool kit.
- Facebook Friend Adders – Facebook is a social networking site. It is NOT a great place to recruit and sponsor new recruits whatever you may have heard. It should be used to create a strong personal brand and position yourself as a person of trust and knowledge. Using a tool to find and add new friends or send automated friend requests will make you look like a spammer. Don’t do it and don’t teach your downline to do it either!
- Twitter Followers – Twitter is one of the simplest tools available to you online. It’s free and it offers you a number of useful functions, such as advanced search which you can use to find and follow like minded entrepreneurs. Tools that add random tweeters and send automated replies are ten to a penny and few, if anyone, pays attention to users who run their accounts in this way.
- Youtube Channel Commenters – I’ve seen so many marketers using these and leaving crappy comments on my Youtube channel that I hardly even read the comment any more. Take it from me, hitting 300 Youtube channels in less than 24 hours with the phrase “Keep Rockin! Love what you’re doing here {insert name} .. !” will not get you very far. Make it personal when using videos for marketing and keep the contact real when connecting on Youtube, or any video sharing site for that matter.
- Web 2.0 Profile Builders – There are loads of these things online and Clickbank seems to spit them out like an old man’s molars. Listen up… when you build hundreds of Web 2.0 profiles in the hope of getting high page rank backlinks to your website something strange happens… the profile looks spammy, gets buried deep inside the website and NEVER gets indexed by the search engines. Even if (by the smallest possible chance) it does get initially indexed, in a matter of months it will be gone again. It does not work – so don’t use it and don’t teach your team to do this either!
There are many more tools to avoid and the list grows longer by the day.
