MLM Forums | Are Forums Starting To Feel Like Fight Club?
MLM Forums remind me a little of Fight Club for Old People. I can see the point in a forum but somehow wonder if the wrong people are frequenting it, you get me?
Don’t get me wrong, I like networkers. Heck! I LOVE networkers! But sometimes, I mean a lot of the time, I believe they are led more by their desire than their intellect and when it comes to networking online many do themselves no end of harm by creating nothing but noise and pitching anyone and everyone in sight. My advice is simple; relax, be yourself and know exactly who you are and where you’re heading. Then learn how to get this across in the right way while battling through your chosen list of MLM forums.
When you own your own business, you tend to become a workaholic and the most successful MLM professionals are no different. You are the master of your domain when it comes to creating MLM success, and every minute you are not working, you are probably thinking about work. How is your downline doing? When did you get your last recruit or sponsor someone? How can you increase your retention rate? If you’re not working in your business, you’re working on your business and if you’re not working on your business, you’re out of business
Here’s my guide to using MLM forums the right way.
Let’s agree for the most part, it can be helpful to connect with other MLM professionals and bounce ideas around, get questions answered, and find useful reviews and opinions of companies, products, compensation plans and training systems and MLM forums offer a safe harbour for you to anchor your ship for a while and drink the coolaid. But, like all forums, if you don’t know the rules of the game, you can quickly find yourself left out in the cold.
Don’t look for acceptance from anyone and everyone or you’ll lose your identity; be selective, know your own opinions and attract those like you into your circle
of trust. Build a strong network of people who share your values first and your business ambitions will often be met.
A forum is simply a message board or discussion site. You sign up, create a user name, and post comments or questions. You can also reply to the comments and questions that others have posted previously. Forums are places where people with similar interests get together and discuss topics that are important to them. Many people find tips, tricks and best practices on forums for free that would have cost them hundreds of dollars elsewhere.
Forums are a great place to connect with people and build your contact list if used the right way. You may meet other MLM professionals and develop strategic partnerships and real long term friendships that will help you now and into the future when building your network marketing empire.
Forums are great for newbies, but they can create an overflow of information at times some good and some not so good and can often get cluttered with opinions and DFOs (Data Free Observations) on the best way to market your MLM business online. The message is “Proceed with caution” until you start to feel less wet behind the ears.
Remember to follow internet etiquette when posting in forums. Before posting a question, always search the forum to see if the answer already exists on another thread somewhere. People get annoyed with newbies who ask the same question as the previous 200 newbies before him did (even if they shouldn’t) so plan ahead and find your feet without upsetting too many of the locals and you’ll soon find yourself feeling like an old hand.
Before you start your own thread or discussion topic, respond to a few other threads. Get your user name out there so people know who you are and know you aren’t a spammer…
Which leads us to the big one: do not spam the forum. Don’t drop your pitch on every thread you contribute to. Forums aren’t the place for direct recruiting.
MLM forums can be a great place for learning, sharing and growing in your business. Take the time to learn the ropes and follow the etiquette, and you can take full advantage of all cyberspace has to offer.
Remember… when the going gets tough, you’re in this business for a reason and that reason belongs to you and nobody else. It might be to make more money or to leave your day job behind, to help your family get more out of life or to take that memo your boss sent through to you last week and stick it where no man should ever go. Whatever it is, the first rule of MLM is don’t stop talking MLM
