Why Read This 5Linx Review?

I’m not an employee nor a distributor with this company. I’m an expert in business and an Internet entrepreneur with a traditional MBA plus an extensive background in MLMs. I’ve been involved with all sorts of businesses, mostly start-ups for over 20 years and have written this for others to be able to decide if 5Linx is the right opportunity for them.

This is a technology company, with an interesting and innovative product sold through a traditional MLM (Multi Level Marketing) distribution system. There is a much bigger picture for big profits for the people who are working with this company – I’ll tell you why at the end.

Any business start-up will require your money and your time. Lots of both. MLMs are great because they require less capital to start than franchises or start-up opportunities. Getting your new business up and running with require a no-quit mentality and a lot of hard work and effort.

The company appears to be solid with a good management team and a lucrative comp plan. Anyone who plugs into the Internet and uses technology to market their new business can really make a lot of money with this company.

Review Pros And Con

Reputation

Nothing stood out about this company in terms of complaints. There were several distributors online that had switched to other companies with similar product lines but all were professionally handled with no “word slinging”.

I also checked with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and no outstanding complaints were filed currently. The BBB (Better Business Bureau) in New York showed all complaints resolved. I didn’t find any action takend against the company by the government or advertising infringements.

Years In Business

Operations began in January of 2001. It’s always good to go with a company that has been established for a few years because statistics show most businesses will fail in their first 12 months.

5Linx Review: Management

The Company has a well-rounded team that encompasses each area of the business: cellular sales, product development and direct marketing. Personally, I prefer a management team founded in sales. Without sales, there’s no company. This business meets the sales criteria.

Craig Jerabeck, CEO and President has been with the company since 2001. With a background in cellular sales at the retail level and plenty of management experience, Mr. Jerabeck is an excellent choice for this entrepreneurial venture.

Jeb Tyler, Exec VP of Marketing, brings a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing to the team but the website doesn’t really say a lot about his prior experiences. Most likely, his prior experience isn’t as extensive as Craig’s.

Jason Guck is the Executive Vice President of Sales and has many years experience directly associated to Network Marketing which is a good tie in for the corporate team considering their business model. Mr. Guck has had years of success building sales orgainzations.

5Linx Review: Financial Stability

At the time of this writing, the company is privately held and listed on INC 500 as one of the fastest growing companies in the country. Not a bad sign. Growth has been over 800% in a 3 year period.

5Linx Review: Products

The company offers Wireless Phones & Accessories, Long Distance Service, Internet Service Provider, High Speed Internet & Satellite TV. Most people would be familiar with their high quality VoIP services. I found no complaints about the quality of their products or services.

5Linx Review: Competition

This is a very challenging market to attempt to pull people away from large established brands and convince them to “switch” in any already established arena. However, positioned properly with the ability to identify prospects, this could be a lucrative opportunity. Today, everyone uses phone services.

5Linx Review: Compensation Plan

The model is a traditional direct sales distribution method. Income opportunities are built around residual programs, paid monthly as well as signing on new distributors. Additional income can be made through the profit sharing plan.

Top leadership is treated like company executives with corporate benefits, vacation plans, a leased BMW and more bonuses. A bonus of a Bentley lease plus other profit sharing income awaits the Top Producers.

Opportunities start at $99 (limited) and increase to $499.

5Linx Review: Leadership

The biggest disappointment about the business is that they are still using the old-school methods of marketing: the 3 foot rule, home and hotel meetings, personally contacting people. Interesting, considering they are selling such a high tech product.

The key to this business is getting a lot of people daily taking a look at your opportunity in order to sign-up one new distributor each day. You should always be checking out the people who have the most success. Check out their training and have a personal conversation with them. How do they market and train their team? Look for a “blueprint”, or a “system” that will get you started step-by-step.

Plenty of marketing materials and traditional conference and group calls are provided to train distributors. I see this with a lot of MLM companies. They pitch the “old school” style of marketing and it’s the #1 reason people fail: chasing prospects and attempting to convince them that they want your offering. Strange way to market considering the market they are targeting.

Internet Marketing will allow you to generate 50 to 200 leads per day. That’s a few hundred people taking a look at your business opportunity, daily. Physically talking to that many people is tough and that is the beauty of the Internet where they come to you. People will actually flock to YOU.
